Arizona State Representative Arrested for DUI in Scottsdale.

No one is above the law in Scottsdale, Arizona, especially when it comes to driving under the influence of alcohol.  Recently, Arizona State Representative, David Smith was arrested for DUI in Scottsdale.  According to Scottsdale police, David was pulled over after they noticed his car swerving into oncoming traffic. When the police approached David, they reported that he stumbled out of his car and smelled like alcohol.  A preliminary breath test revealed that David had a .137 blood alcohol concentration.  He is now being charged with a DUI and could face up to 10 days in jail.

Scottsdale police take DUI’s seriously.  Scottsdale police officers are highly trained in DUI investigations.  If you have been arrested for a DUI, it is important that you hire a lawyer who will dissect your DUI case in an effort to look for mistakes made by police officers and toxicologists.  With adequate preparation and investigation, a DUI lawyer will be able to formulate effective defenses to create reasonable doubt in jurors’ minds, which will help get your DUI case dismissed.

While we never encourage people to drink and drive, if you have been arrested in Scottsdale, remember the following: NEVER ADMIT TO DRINKING, NEVER PERFORM FIELD SOBRIETY TESTS, AND CALL MATTHEW LOPEZ LAW IMMEDIATELY.
