Ryan Williams
Attorney
Biography
Born in Texas and raised in Arizona, Ryan has always felt a deep connection to the community that he calls home. After earning his degree in Political Science, with a minor in History, from Arizona State University, he initially set out to become a teacher, completing a Master’s in Teaching at the University of Southern California. His goal was to inspire and guide the next generation, but along the way, he discovered that his true passion was advocacy. The courtroom he realized was where he could make his greatest impact.
Ryan earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Wisconsin and returned to Arizona to serve the community that shaped him. He began his legal career as a Public Defender, representing clients in both misdemeanor and felony cases and gaining firsthand experience navigating the justice system. Over the course of his career, he has handled hundreds of cases across a wide range of criminal matters.
Building on that experience, he later served as a Prosecutor, trying cases ranging from DUIs and theft offenses to complex domestic violence matters, refining his trial skills while gaining insight from the other side of the courtroom.
Having worked on both sides of the courtroom, Ryan brings a comprehensive understanding of how cases are investigated, charged, and tried. At Matthew Lopez Law, he leverages that insight to build strategic, results-driven defenses. He stands by his clients and approaches every case with the same passion and dedication that first drew him to teaching and public service.
