Creating a wake in a no wake zone is a misdemeanor. Misdemeanors carry a maximum fine of $2500 plus 83% surcharge and six months in jail. While it is unlikely that you are going to get six months in jail or even any jail at all, you surely do not want to have a misdemeanor criminal conviction on your record. In some states, after a certain amount of time has passed, a criminal conviction will fall off your record. Unfortunately, Arizona is not one of the states. Once you’re charged and convicted of a criminal misdemeanor, the misdemeanor will forever be on your record.
I would hire Matt again in a heartbeat!
I was cited for an MIC at the Salt River in Mesa in September of 2011. Matt did an exceptional job from start to finish with everything for my case. He communicated everything clearly and I always knew what was going on. On top of that, he was very friendly and understanding of everything that was going on. Although I hope nothing like this ever happens again, if it did, I would hire Matt again in a heartbeat!
