What to do if Stopped for Underage Drinking at Salt River

If you are going tubing down the Salt River and you are under 21, please make sure you do not drink. If you do decide to drink at the River, you are making a very big mistake. Hundreds of people will be cited, and some will be arrested, this year for minor in consumption of alcohol while tubing down the Salt River.

Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office Patrolling Mesa

My office has handled more underage drinking cases than we can count. Most of the police reports, especially while tubing down the River are very similar. If the police have reasonable suspicion that you are under 21 and have consumed alcohol, they have the legal authority to approach you for further investigation. If your breath smells like alcohol or are showing any signs or symptoms of alcohol consumption, they can issue a citation – even if you did not blow into a breathalyzer.

My Best Legal Advice

If you you are under 21 and approached by police, and you have been drinking, I suggest just handing them your driver’s license (by law you have to) and do not answer any of their questions. When I say don’t answer their questions, I mean none of their questions. As soon as you open your mouth, they will say you smell like alcohol. If they want to proceed with a breathalyzer, do not blow.

We Can Get Not Guilty Verdicts

If you follow our advice, there is a chance we may be able to have your case dismissed or receive a not guilty verdict. Let us show you why hundreds of clients have hired our firm to represent them with their MIC or MIP charge. They do this for one reason – we are very good at what we do.
