Attorney General Charged With Hit and Run. Good Lesson for Personal Injury Clients

Arizona Attorney General Tom Horne was recently charged with a hit run after he allegedly backed into another vehicle and drove away.  Apparently, the damages were so minute that Mr. Horne claims he didn’t know he hit another car. Although a hit and run is a criminal charge, an important lesson from Mr. Horne’s behavior is what to do after an accident.  My law firm has handled countless car accident cases in Tempe, Phoenix, Scottsdale, and throughout Arizona.  One of the most difficult parts of our job is representing clients who have been injured in a car accident but did not call the police.  When there isn’t a police report, the insurance companies are reluctant to accept liability.  While we believe everything our clients tell us, and consider ourselves to be their number one advocate, convincing the insurance companies that our clients’ injuries are legitimate, and their insured is 100 per cent at fault, can be incredibly difficult without a police report documenting the accident.

The most important thing to do if you have been involved in a car accident is to immediately call 9-1-1.  If the police asks if you are injured and whether you need medical attention, your answer should be yes.  I have received the best results for my clients when they immediately informed the police about their injuries and requested medical attention. The next most important thing to do is call an experienced personal injury attorney at Matthew Lopez Law.  As soon as we are on the case, we contact the insurance companies to tell them our clients are represented by our lawyers and that all communication must now go through us.

Insurance companies hate to hear this news, because they know we will make they pay the most amount of money to compensate our clients for lost wages, medical bills, and pain and suffering. If you have been injured in a car accident, call an experienced and aggressive lawyer at Matthew Lopez Law to discuss your case for free!
