A former Deputy County Attorney, Ryan Hernandez uses his prosecution background to help clients face criminal charges with a stronger defense strategy.
Ryan Hernandez is a dedicated criminal defense attorney with a proven track record on both sides of the courtroom. Before joining Matthew Lopez Law, Ryan served for over four years as a Deputy County Attorney with the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office, where he prosecuted misdemeanor and felony cases ranging from DUIs and reckless driving to drug possession, theft, and weapons misconduct. His experience as a prosecutor gives him a deep understanding of the strategies the State uses—and how to effectively counter them in defense of his clients.
Ryan’s practice focuses on defending clients in DUI, assault, drug-related, and other criminal matters, guiding them from the initial consultation through trial. He is skilled at negotiating favorable plea agreements, challenging the prosecution’s evidence, and developing defense strategies tailored to each client’s unique situation. Ryan is known for his meticulous preparation, persuasive advocacy, and commitment to protecting his clients’ rights and futures.
Ryan earned his Juris Doctor from Arizona Summit Law School in 2018. He also holds a Master of Advanced Study in American Media and Popular Culture and a Bachelor of Arts in Film and Media Studies from Arizona State University.
When he’s not in court, Ryan is researching the law to sharpen his skills and deliver results for his clients.
